WHAT CAN BE RECYCLED?
PAPER & CARDBOARD
Paper is one the material that can be easily recycled. Recycled paper is paper that was made from paper and paper products that has already been used and recovered. Paper recycling begins with us.
The Paper recycling activity can start at school, college, home, office, local community and even at drop off centers.
PLASTIC
Plastic recycling is the process of recovering scrap or waste plastic and reprocessing the material into useful products, sometimes completely different in form from their original state.
Since plastic is non- biodegradable, recycling it is a part of global efforts to reduce plastic in the waste stream. This helps to reduce the high rates of plastic pollution.
METALS & OTHERS
Aluminium cans can actually be recycled and put back onto the shelf at your local grocery store in just about 2 months. Recycling an aluminium can help to save a great deal of energy, in fact, enough to run our home television for about three hours!
A variety of electronics, furniture and electrical appliances could be reused and recycled. Your trash could be others’ treasure.
MIXED TEXTILES & CLOTHES
We all have clothes in our wardrobes or curtains, pillow cases, duvet covers, blankets, sheets and towels in our cupboards that we don’t need or want any more. Sometimes we have items that are past their best too…
Clothes and textiles can be passed onto someone in need, destitute families, orphans, homeless elderly, etc… It could be recycled and made into new items, such as padding for chairs and car seats, cleaning cloths and industrial blankets too.
